Z just asked me if today was my birthday. I told him it wasn’t, but I wished it were so I could have cake! He told me he would make me a chocolate cake "with M&Ms and nuts." Then he said he would blow up some balloons and “put them aaaall over” and “hang up signs and stuff.” I asked who he would invite to my birthday party and he says, “Aunt Liz and Uncle Brendan, Grandpa John and Grandpa Hi, Daddy… (sorry Grandmas…he forgot you!)”
How cute is that?? And impressive to boot, right?
Completely unrelated picture of my little guy...but still fun anyway! :D

Laugh of the Day!
So, I was on Redbox to reserve a movie, and this banner caught my eye. It was right above the log in area and said...
"Lean Over the keyboard whilst entering your password to foil spies."
Too funny, and I especially like the use of the word 'whilst' (which I myself try to use every opportunity I have!)!

Spring!
Today was the first day of Spring, and although it doesn’t look like it outside, we decided to celebrate anyway! For weeks, Z has been asking if it was Spring yet, so I decided a good way to celebrate was to let him make cookies (sugar cookies, or as he calls them; “cut out cookies” LOL!).
I didn't get any pictures of us actually making the cookies, but I did get some of after we finished...
The finished product (note the little blue dyed at the bottom of pic...LOL)!

Conversations with Zavion
He got to pick out brand new underwear as a reward for being potty trained. Of course, he chose Superhero underwear and, of course, Superman was his favorite.
One morning, I got out a pair of underwear for him that had Batman on them…
Z: I don’t want these; I want Superman!
M: Superman is in the laundry. These are Batman, and he’s cool too.
Z: No, Superman is better!!
M: Batman is just as good (in my heart, knowing this is not true, of course…LOL!).
Z: No, Batman doesn’t have red rocketship boots like Superman.
M: But, he has a cool car and plane.
Z: But, he can’t fly like Superman.
M: That’s true…but, put on the underwear anyway.

“Look at the moon! It’s smiling at me! It’s saying, ‘Hi Mr. Zavion!’”

I caught him getting into candy and said, “nuh uh.” He said, “I wasn’t stealing candy Mom. I was just checking to make sure everything was okay.”

St. Patrick’s Day
I realized today it has been awhile since I’ve updated my blog. I was sick for about a week and a half, and not in the mood to do much of anything. Luckily, the sickness managed to bypass the kids, so (unlike the month before) I only had to deal with my suffering. ;0)
Since today was such an important holiday (LOL), I decided it was time for an update.
So, the kids and I just hung out around the house today, which was nice. The weather has been so yucky lately, that going out just proves to be stressful for all; running in the pouring rain and wind while carrying the girly in the carseat and/or Z splashing in every available puddle is not my idea of fun. Z gets a little stir crazy being cooped up inside, but I try to find fun stuff for us to do to keep his mind off of it. If we do get a break in the rain, I can sometimes take the kids and walk down to check the mail, but this time of month, that’s pretty rare.
Even though we were staying at home, I couldn’t resist dressing Avalee in her St. Pat’s Day outfit. Grandma D bought her the most adorable green dress and I bought this cute garter belt (in Target’s dollar section) that I used as a headband. She was TOO adorable. Z had a green Leprechaun hat, but I could only get him to wear it for a few minutes (enough to take a few pics though!), because he had more important things to do. LOL!
Heyy, it's that thing that takes my picture again!
Oooh, there are pretty flowers on my dress!
My little leprechaun
Kiss me, I'm Irish (but really, do you need an excuse??)!!
They love each other so much!

I survived!
We had to make a return trip to IKEA, to get Z's dresser, so we decided to head up there on Saturday. Last time we were there, Z spotted the kids play area and really wanted to go in. Since we wanted to look at a few things anyway, we decided to let him go in.
Now, this was obviously the plan and had been for a couple days before going to IKEA. It was still the plan when we left for IKEA, on the way to IKEA and once we arrived in the parking lot of IKEA. However...once we got in the line, I realized this would be the first time we had left Z with anyone outside the family.
I stared silently wondering if this was a good idea. Colin had taken Z to the bathroom, while my mom and I waited in the line. By the time he had gotten back, I was in full blown panic mode. My stomach was in knots and a could feel a cold sweat coming on! Colin kept telling me it would be okay, and that Z would be okay. The closer we got to the front of the line though, the worse I felt.
“They have a ball pit,” I said. “I don't like ball pits.”
“It's fine.” “It's only for one hour,” Colin reminded me.
“Did you see the emergency evacuation directions??”
Colin just shook his head.
“Seriously. It's important we both know where to meet Z if we get separated!”
“Uh, ok. In case an airplane crashes into the building or something.”
At this point, I'm shooting him a don't-you-dare-be-sarcastic when I'm willingly giving up my baby to strangers-look!
Again, Colin reminds me everything and everyone will be fine. We get to the counter and I check him in. I'm trying to play it cool and not let the girl at the desk see that I'm a complete wreck, but I believe it's possible I might throw up!
And then, it's over and Z is walking away...away from me! Ack! I had to watch him through the glass window for a couple minutes before being physically pulled away by Colin.
I set my phone alarm for 50 minutes and clutched the pager they gave us in case we needed to come back sooner.
About a half hour later, the pager went off, and so did I. All the worst thoughts were going through my head as I rushed downstairs with my mom. What if another kid was mean to him?? What if he missed us and is in tears?? What if he missed us SO much he managed to run away and was lost???
When we got there, Z was just standing by the exit. He looked a little worried, but there were no tears. The attendant said he simply asked to go back with his Mom and Dad. He had fun and told us he wanted to go back next time.
Next time? Maybe I'll start working up to it now!
Yup, Colin took a pic of me worrying after Z went in...
